David Grusch and several members of Congress are expected to call on President Trump to declassify specific UAP-related files during a June 9 press conference at the U.S. Capitol.

A June 9 press conference on the steps of the U.S. Capitol is being promoted as a direct push for President Trump to declassify specific UAP-related files and for Congress to move forward with disclosure-related legislation.
According to the press release referenced in the announcement, David Grusch is expected to attend, along with members of Congress including Rep. Eric Burlison, Rep. Jared Moskowitz, Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, and Rep. Tim Burchett. The event is also expected to involve investigative journalist Leslie Kean and filmmaker James Fox.
The most important part of this development is that it does not appear to be framed as another vague request to “release more UFO files.”
Grusch is expected to discuss specific UAP and non-human intelligence-related evidence he says he encountered in deeply classified channels, and why those records should now be reviewed and publicly released with legitimate national security protections.
His quote from the release is direct:
“President Trump now has an historic opportunity; this press conference is about moving from testimony to action. Let the American people judge the facts for themselves.”
That phrase, moving from testimony to action, is the key point.
For years, the public has heard testimony, claims, hearings, interviews, and promises. But if the central allegations involve recovered craft, non-human biological material, reverse-engineering programs, contractor-held records, or classified evidence, then the next step cannot simply be more ambiguous videos or recycled PDFs.
It has to be specific files.
It has to be records that can actually move the discussion forward.
This press conference also comes at an interesting time. The administration has already been publicly discussing UFO and extraterrestrial-related file releases, while recent reports have claimed that figures such as Jeremy Corbell, Ross Coulthart, and even religious leaders have been contacted about how disclosure should be communicated to the public.
Those claims should still be treated carefully, but the pattern is becoming difficult to ignore.
Trump has publicly leaned into UFO file releases.
A government UFO portal has already generated major public attention.
Members of Congress are pushing for more transparency.
Grusch is returning publicly to the issue.
And the conversation is shifting from general UAP sightings toward specific classified records and alleged non-human intelligence evidence.
This is exactly where the disclosure debate should be headed.
Not more vague wording.
Not more “unidentified” clips.
Not more old documents repackaged as a breakthrough.
If the evidence exists, release the files that actually matter.
The big question now is whether this June 9 event will produce real pressure for specific records, or whether it becomes another media moment that fades without concrete action.
